Mental Health Walk | From Balashi Gold Mills to Spaans Lagoen
Embark on a tranquil journey through Aruba’s natural beauty—where we meet at the historic Balashi Gold Mill ruins, where rusted industrial relics meet sweeping views over the Spanish Lagoon. This preserved wetland is framed by dense mangroves and is a haven for birds such as the endemic Shoco (Aruban burrowing owl). Continue into the mangrove trail alongside the lagoon—where ancient shell middens whisper stories of indigenous life, and brackish waters reflect leafy canopies. The quiet, moist serenity of this green corridor invites a deep sense of presence and clarity. Pause in the shade and breathe deeply as salt-tinged air mingles with rustling leaves. With each step, feel stress dissolve, and calm emerge.
